On January 16, 2025, the Chargé d'Affaires of Ukraine in the Kingdom of Thailand, Mr. Viktor Semenov, held a meeting with the President of the Senate of the Kingdom of Thailand, H.E. Mongkol Surasajja.
In the course of the meeting was presented a detailed information regarding the ongoing Russian aggression against Ukraine and the paths to restoring a just peace for Ukraine based on international law, particularly the principle of Ukraine's territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders. Mr. Viktor Semenov expressed gratitude to Thailand for its consistent position on the international stage and for providing humanitarian assistance to Ukraine.
The parties also discussed prospects for enhancing interparliamentary cooperation, including the formation of a Ukraine-Thailand parliamentary friendship group, strengthening bilateral dialogue, and coordinating efforts within international parliamentary platforms.
Special attention was given to expanding economic cooperation between Ukraine and Thailand and the potential implementation of joint initiatives, such as the "Grain from Ukraine" program aimed at ensuring food security and the "Thailand: Kitchen of the World" initiative, which seeks to promote and develop national culinary brands.
Overall, the meeting emphasized the commitment of both countries to deepen their mutually beneficial partnership.
