On January 21, 2025, the Chargé d'Affaires of Ukraine in the Kingdom of Thailand, Mr. Viktor Semenov, held a meeting with Mrs. Yuthika Isarangkura, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Culture, Ministry of Culture of the Kingdom of Thailand. 

During the meeting, Mr. Semenov provided a detailed account of the ongoing Russian aggression against Ukraine, with a particular focus on the widespread destruction of Ukrainian cultural sites. He highlighted the deliberate targeting of historical landmarks, museums, theaters, libraries, and churches by Russian forces, which has resulted in irreversible losses to Ukraine’s cultural heritage. These acts, constitute violations of international laws protecting cultural property and must be stopped.

Both sides discussed opportunities to strengthen cultural ties between Ukraine and Thailand, including collaborative projects. Additionally, they explored possibilities for the development of the legal framework to enhance bilateral cooperation in the cultural sector.
