Grand opening of art&photo exhibition "Ukraine is the Cradle of Heroes"
22 June 2022 13:58

On June 21 2022 at the premises of Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC) took place a grand opening of the art&photo exhibition “Ukraine is the Cradle of Heroes”.

The Embassy of Ukraine in the Kingdom of Thailand presented the works of three authors to the diplomatic corps, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand, the Ukrainian community and other art connoisseurs.

A well-known Ukrainian graphic artist and illustrator Oleksii Chebykin (Shakll) personally greeted the guests and talked about the idea of combining images of Ramayana characters and Ukrainian Cossacks shown together against the historical background of the eternal fight between good and evil.

The second part of the exhibition was dedicated to the present day heroes of Ukraine, namely the defenders of Mariupol, soldiers of the Azov Regiment, who were defending the Azovstal metallurgical plant for more than 80 days. Most of the exhibition photos were taken by Dmytro Kozatskyi, de facto press secretary of the regiment and his fellows. In this way, the event organizers paid a tribute to their feat and called on the world to apply efforts in order to release them from Russia. All guests also had an opportunity to draw the paintings, depicting the portraits of the Ukrainian soldiers and feel like an artist for a while.

Another element of the exhibition became a series of paintings, performed by the Ukrainian artist Marta Pitchuk with an ancient Ukrainian talisman - a Motanka doll, which embodies the heritage of our ancestors and revives sacred motifs, symbolizing prosperity, harmony and peace, which Ukraine desperately needs today.

We express our sincere gratitude for the active participation and comprehensive assistance in organization of the exhibition to BACC senior management, the Honorary Consuls of Ukraine in Thailand Mr. Preecha Tirakijpong and Mrs. Bang-on Jansanthiarepresentatives of the Ukrainian community, including Mykola Boichuk, Oleksandra Holokoz's family, Antonina Motorko, Glib Kalita, Maria Kalita and Bangkok Soap Opera, “Dessert for donation” and its founder Mykhailo Skiba, as well as all those who have contributed to raising charitable funds for the needs of Ukraine.

We remind you that the exhibition will be opened until July 3 on the 5th floor of BACC gallery. The entrance is free of charge.

We invite you to a meeting with the Ukrainian art!!!
