Ambassador Andrii Beshta held the meeting with Director General of the Department of Corrections of the Ministry of Justice of Thailand

On July 13, 2018 the Ambassador of Ukraine to the Kingdom of Thailand held the meeting with Pol. Col. Naras Savestanan, Director General of the Department of Correction of the Ministry of Justice of Thailand.
One of the topics was the prospects of signing the Agreement on Transfer of Sentenced Persons between Ukraine and the Kingdom of Thailand. The parties also discussed the conditions of detention of the Ukrainian prisoners in Thailand.
Pol. Col. Naras Savestanan confirmed the readiness of Department of Corrections to support the conclusion of the Agreement on Transfer of Sentenced Persons. The Thai side will also cooperate in ensuring the proper conditions of serving sentences for the Ukrainian imprisoned persons.
There are 23 Ukrainians in Thai prisons now sentenced for crimes related to illicit drug trafficking and credit cards fraud.
