On May 14, 2021 Ambassador of Ukraine H.E. Mr. Andrii Beshta and H.E. Mr. Thani Thongphakdi, Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand exchanged views on the topical issues of Ukrainian-Thai cooperation.
In view of marking the 29th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Ukraine and Thailand (May 6, 2021), the parties highlighted main achievements in building up bilateral relations in the political, economic, scientific, military and technical, cultural and humanitarian spheres. It was stated that during these almost three decades both sides created a solid foundation for further development and deepening of cooperation between Ukraine and Thailand.
The parties expressed interest in intensifying cooperation in all areas of mutual interest. To this end it was agreed to hold third round of political consultations between the foreign ministries of both countries in the near future.
Particular attention was paid to development of cooperation between Ukraine and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), including the planned opening of the ASEAN Studies Centre in Kyiv on the basis of the Institute of International Relations of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
