On February 19, 2025, the Embassy of Ukraine in the Kingdom of Thailand, together with the Embassy of the Republic of Poland and the European Union Delegation to Thailand, organized an event to mark the third anniversary of the beginning of Russia’s full-scale military invasion of Ukraine.
The event brought together representatives of the diplomatic corps, media, Ukrainian community, and civil society organizations. It served as a platform for reflecting on the ongoing Russian aggression, expressing solidarity with Ukraine, and emphasizing the importance of restoring a just peace for Ukraine and strengthening international partnerships.
The official part of the event was opened by:
-
Viktor Semenov, Chargé d'Affaires of Ukraine in the Kingdom of Thailand
-
Monika Krzewicka, Chargé d'Affaires of the Republic of Poland
-
Laura Brachet, Head of the Political, Press, and Information Section of the EU Delegation
In his opening remarks, the Ukrainian diplomat emphasized that Ukraine continues its struggle to restore a just peace based on the norms and principles of international law and stressed the importance of maintaining unity among international partners in supporting Ukraine.
Attendees had the opportunity to watch the powerful documentary "People" by directors Maciej Ślesicki and Filip Hillesland, which truthfully depicts the brutal realities and crimes of Russian aggression faced by Ukrainians during the war. Following the screening, an insightful discussion took place with the participation of first assistant director Vladyslav Deva, who traveled to Thailand specifically to present the film.
Before the screening, guests also had the chance to see the "Support Ukraine Pic" poster exhibition by the Ukrainian illustrators' club Pictoric, which conveys the experience of war through artistic imagery.
The Embassy of Ukraine extends its sincere gratitude to everyone who contributed to organizing the event and continues to support Ukraine in these challenging times.
