On March 29, 2021 Ambassador of Ukraine H.E. Mr. Andrii Beshta participated, as a special guest, in the meeting of the Tourism Council of Thailand (TCT) where he made a presentation of tourism potential of Ukraine (a paper and video movies).
Before the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, 40 million of foreign tourists visited Thailand in 2019 out of which a record number of 100 thousand tourists came from Ukraine. At the same time only several hundred of Thai tourists visit Ukraine annually.
Thus, H.E. Mr. Andrii Beshta called upon the representatives of the Thai tourism business to actively develop the Ukrainian direction for tourists from Thailand. While discussing these issues with Mr. Chamnan Srisawat, the President of the Tourism Council, and Mr.Suthiphong Pheunphiphop, the President of the Thai Travel Agents Association, it was preliminary agreed to organize a visit of a group of Thai tour operators to Ukraine, aiming at acquainting them with tourism potential and popular routes, as well as establishing contacts with Ukrainian tour operators as soon as the situation with COVID-19 permits.
The Tourism Council of Thailand is a non-governmental organization which unites representatives of different directions of tourism business in all provinces of Thailand.
