The prospects of signing the Treaty on Transfer of Sentenced Persons between Ukraine and the Kingdom of Thailand were discussed. Among the other topics raised in the meeting were inclusion of imprisoned Ukrainians into the lists for Collective Royal Pardon and positive consideration of appeals on granting Individual Royal Pardons on the occasion of the Coronation of the King Rama X.

Director General of the Department of Correction informed that a large number of Ukrainian prisoners in Thailand may receive a reduction of 50% of the sentence, some of them may be completely released, as a result of the ongoing  collective Royal Pardon procedures in Thailand.

There are 24 Ukrainians in Thai prisons sentenced for crimes related to illicit drug trafficking and credit cards fraud.
