Ukraine-Thailand: Military cooperation in the spirit of partnership and constructive dialog
During an official visit of Ukrainian military delegation to the Kingdom of Thailand the Defence Minister of Ukraine held talks with his Thai colleague Air Chief Marshal Sukampol Suwannathat.
Pavlo Lebedev expressed hopes concerning further development of bilateral cooperation between the defence ministries of Ukraine and the Kingdom of Thailand.
“Our relations develop in the spirit of partnership and constructive dialogue,” the Defence Minister of Ukraine stressed.
According to the head of the delegation the issues of current agenda include possibility to stir up bipartite cooperation along the directions of military-technical cooperation, exchange with experience in reforming and development of the armed forces, in the area of peacekeeping activity, readying of personnel in military educational institutions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), joint participation of military officers of the AFU and the Kingdom of Thailand in combat training held on the territories of the two states.
The Defence Minister of Ukraine also met with Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Army, General Prayuth Chan-ocha.
“We are satisfied with the level of cooperation with Thailand in military and military-technical spheres and also with the process of realization of contracts for supplies of military equipment,” Pavlo Lebedev stressed. At the same time we are ready for further bilaterial military and military-technical cooperation we are concerned about, he added.
